First Meeting Minutes

-         Alexandros Salazar, our Social Chair, is in charge and the contact for the new undergraduate membership.

-         HS will participate in the Food Fair, week of March 6. Nikos Vasiloglu is in charge of the effort; Alexandros Salazar is our representative within the organizing committee.

-         As a member of the NHSA, Hellenic Society has agreed to assist with the efforts to organize the Greek exhibition to the United Nations, with theme Ancient Delphi and the Amphictiony.

-         The pending issue of profits from the Gaitanos concert was discussed.

-         Nick Grivas introduced the new student organization Orthodox Christian Fellowship.

-         Hellenic Society will distribute free of charge a copy of Mr. Gaitanos’ CD, if you have the original please contact george.kassanis@bme.gatech.edu.

-         George Stefopoulos and Joanna Catravas have volunteered to constitute a committee for website content update.

-         Buzzgammon and a dance party this semester are pending issues.

-         Hellenic Society will have a dinner meeting once a month, to be held Wednesdays at 7 pm at Ray’s in Tech Square. The dates will be announced shortly.

-         The Board decision regarding political involvement of the Hellenic Society was discussed. By a vote of 3-2, the Board decided the Hellenic Society will primarily act informatively for its membership, regarding political issues.

-         The General Assembly upheld the Board vote.

-         Possibility of a co-organization of an Easter event with HAS was discussed.
