ODK founded at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA

Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) founded

ODK granted full membership in ACHS
May 28, 1930
Alpha Eta Circle at Georgia Tech founded
1935
  • First of present day homecoming celebrations takes place, sponsored by ANAK, ODK, and Yellow Jacket Club (now Ramblin' Reck Club)
  • Raised funds for addition of ODK Room to Brittain Dining Hall
  • Organized campus-wide President's Club
  • Inaugurated an annual spring football game as a fund-raising activity
Late 1960s
Instrumental in raising funds for the Fred B. Wenn Student Activities Building (now Student Center)
1967
Student Activities Building opens
1976
  • Donated sculpture in library fountain to Tech
  • Helped fund the first Course Critique
1977
Developed program to enhance the Library Archives at Tech, including 3 full-time librarians and new capital purchases:
  • Began oral history project by interviewing prominent alumni
  • Committed to the long-term assembly and distribution of archive material for display in the Student Center, Alumni House, on recruiting trips, and for events such as Homecoming
  • Pushed for the upgrade of the existing physical condition of the archives
1983
1st Georgia Tech Leadership Conference held by ODK
1987
Donated over $500 for the Paul G. Mayer Garden by Skiles
1995
Served as ushers at President G. Wayne Clough's inauguration
1999
Successful creation of Leadership Enhancement And Resource Networking (LEARN) Peer Mentor Program. This mentor program provides first-year students with the information and skills vital to becoming effective leaders on campus and in the community.
2005
ODK celebrates 75th anniversary
2006
Successful Georgia Tech Leadership Conference at Klaus Advanced Computing Building. This year's conference featured Truett Cathy, Elisabeth Omilami, and President Clough as keynote speakers.
