Go on a Virtual Tour of WREK
Farewell, old studio
In July 2004, after years of preparation, we moved from our old studio next
to the Coliseum to our shiny new studio in the center of campus. Knowing
that the old place would be getting completely gutted, we shot footage of
the old walls just to show what 25 years of crusty radio goodness looks like.
Here's the 2 minute highlights (5 MB, Quicktime)
of the footage, backed by the best WREK ID compilation ever -- the same ID
compilation that we launched our new studio with at 12:02 pm on July 27th, 2004.
Thanks to Chris Pair (camera work) and Katherine Schweigert (editing)
for their hard work.
The Old Studio in QuicktimeVR
From 1978 to 2004, WREK's studios were housed in the Coliseum Annex, in the northeast
corner of campus. This 360 degree view of the station was created from a
panoramic photo taken for the Live at WREK CD
gatefold insert. You will need a QuickTime viewer,
which allows you to rotate and zoom around the full 360 degrees of the
studio.

Photograph Gallery
We recently uncovered a trove of high quality black & white photographs
of the old EE studio. Check out the snappy threads and funky hairstyles!
(On second thought, Tech students today don't look much different ...)
We also have some new pictures of the current studio.
