Training Session Dates

Thursday, Sept. 7th at 4pm
WREK is the student radio station of Georgia Tech. We broadcast 40,000
watts of power at 91.1fm, covering all of metro Atlanta and beyond.
The first step to working at WREK is attending a training session. A
training session is a one time event where you are taught the fundamentals
of running a radio station and how all the equipment works.
They're two hours long at most, and you only need to attend one.
Please bring a pen or pencil.
They are held in WREK's studios, which are located on the second floor of the
Student Center Commons.
In the meantime, please listen to the station you're about to be a part of
at 91.1 FM. Also check out our web site at www.wrek.org to familiarize
yourself with WREK, especially these pages:
It's easy to say that WREK plays music that you can't hear anywhere else
but it's really so much more than that--WREK strives to play the most
cutting-edge, vibrant, new, and exciting music out there. During any
given week you can tune in to WREK and hear musical styles as diverse as
breakbeat hip-hop, dance, intelligent dance music, ambient and trance,
classic rock, reggae, ska, world music, industrial, blues, metal, indie
rock, bluegrass, classical, the most whacked out experimental stuff you've
ever heard, and much, MUCH more.
Even if you're not interested in spinning records WREK has a place for
you. It takes a lot to keep a radio station running 24-7, and we can
always use more people in such areas as publicity, engineering, sports,
sound engineering, computers, news, public affairs programming (including
our talk show), and pretty much anything you can think of to help us out.
