- The climate in Atlanta is much warmer than in most parts of Europe. A hot and dry summer lasts until the end of September so that you need only light clothing for the summer. Winter is nearly always above 0°C and sometimes very rainy. January and February are the coldest months.
- Because other countries have other cultures, one important fact. There is a open door policy in the US: If a door is open, feel free to get in and talk to the person. The door is open even if the person inside is working, so pay respect to this circumstance. If a door is shot, the person inside has this done intentionally and not only because the sound from the outside might disturb her. Therefore, you need a good reason to knoch on aclosed door. It is not a good idea to open a closed door just for chatting a little while.
- GaTech has a Campus License for music at Ruckus Music Service: Although it is limited to Windows at the moment, you can get los of music for free on a totally legally base!
- Textbooks are very expensive, so you might try to get the International Version of your US Textbook which is substainably cheaper than the US version for the most cases. Although many publisher claim that it is not allowed to buy/sell international version inside the US, the Supreme Court has decided that it is not against the law. You might try this or any other OnlineShop.
