Candidate selection process
Students who are interested in pursuing a master's degree at Georgia Tech will contact the office of international
education of their respective university. Specific details will be given there, e.g.
TU Berlin (German). Typically, the application deadline
(written version) will be in November. The student is expected to have valid reasons for pursuing an education at
Georgia Tech and is required to submit a 'statement of purpose' and a 'study plan' to prove this. Good to excellent
academic performance as well as a sound knowledge of English are basic requirements.
If the applicant is considered further, a personal interview (in English) will be
scheduled shortly after the application deadline for the paper version.
The applicant will be interviewed by a committee consisting of at least one representative of the
NEF, office of international education staff, and a professor. The student will not only be asked about his or her
academic performance and plans at Georgia Tech. Successful applicants will also be able to show a
well-rounded personality and be able to convey their plans, ideas, and genuine interest reasonably well.
