Every year the WSF organizes a trip to a State Park not too far from Atlanta. In the past years, the trips went to Unicoi State Park near the town of Helen, GA. This is a quite German-looking town with some German restaurants and bakeries. Germans will find out though, that not everything that looks German in Helen is really German. Previous trips also went to Cloudland Canyon, Hard Labor Creek, and Roosevelt State Park.

The trip takes place over the second weekend into the fall semester at Georgia Tech. The new students will get to know each other and those who are already settled in. Cooking/food will mostly be up to the students themselves, and days are usually spent tubing, hiking, shopping, restaurant-hopping or sunbathing. This is also your chance to finally meet Carlton Parker, with whom you will have communicated only over email and phone to get you here.
